Cruise Destinations: The Galapagos & Baltic Sea

I recently wrote a post about the places I want to travel in 2017. This is a post about the places I’m ACTUALLY going to travel this year. As I was writing this post I realized that my trips for this year revolve around a cruise. I couldn’t be more excited and grateful to keep exploring the world with my friends and family. I’m looking for collaborations or any tips while visiting these dope destinations.

This trip is really special to me because I’m teaming up with Galapagos Luxury Charters to help spread the word on the beauty of Darwin’s discoveries while cruising the islands in luxury. My partner and I will be flying down to Guayaquil for two days before we jet off to the islands.

From what I know, which admittedly isn’t much, Guayaquil is a port city and the gateway to the Galapagos.  It’s full of colorful houses and delicious foods. I’m always looking for a locals spot of a hidden gem so hit me up if you know of any!

From Guayaquil, we’ll fly about two hours to the Galapagos and board a luxury yacht for a four day cruise of snorkeling, site seeing, diving, eating, drinking and a truly unique experience with Galapagos Luxury Charters. Follow me on social @findyourhappyplate to follow all the adventures!

My next big trip for the year is a family trip…that may make some people cringe but I’m pretty excited. My parents know how important travel is to me and it’s the perfect excuse for all of us to get together. So this summer we’re going on a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Baltic Sea.

We’re starting off in Stockholm and for the next seven days hitting the waterside cities of Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallinn and Riga. It will be a whirlwind of a trip and the first big cruise I’ve ever been on. To be honest, we’re all a bit nervous about the quality of the food, the brevity of our stay in each city etc. It will be a completely new travel experience for my parents and I.

After the cruise ends we’ll be exploring Sweden with native and photographer friend @travelling_typewriter (follow her for awesome shots)! I’m really looking forward to strolling the street of Stockholm, exploring her lakeside hometown and having a traditional Swedish feast!

Leave your tips for the above destinations in the comments; I’d love to hear about your traveling experiences in these countries.

I’ve never actually been on a cruise but have wanted to go for ages! The notion here is that it’s quite boring and old school for pensioners I think but to me it just sounds like so much fun! x

I know, I think their will be a lot of older people on my Baltic cruise, but cruising in luxury is my type of vacation!
